A thing I liked about this article is that it shows how people get views on their youtube videos. A thing I dislike about this article is that it shows how companies are finding ways to make money of people easier :( A question I have about this article is why would people pay these people so much to get views on a youtube video?

This week had ups and downs. A thing that frustrated me this week was that i had no time to work on my rotoscoping project, which im very, very, behind on. A thing I learned this week is how crappy it is to be behind on work. Something I would like to learn in the future is how to get my work done faster. A thing that made me happy this week was my short trip to California.
Here's a cool link- http://youtu.be/CBYlRD-Hk8k
it's a commercial for a year old game L.A. Noire. In the commercial it shows how they used actors and motion capturing to make the characters facial and body movements realistic.

Another thing I learned was that competing film studios will actually start working together to deliver joint superhero films. A thing I liked about this article was that it showed how The Avengers has changed so much in the movie business. Another thing I liked was that it talked about how spiderman never appeared in the Avenger's Movie. A question I have about this article is why is did this movie attract so many people?

A question I have about this article is why do people worry so much that somebody changed holiday characters for a film?

This Week

This week I learned how long it takes to do rotoscoping. In the future I would like to learn how to make 3d animation. Something that frustrated me this week was how long it took me to do each frame in rotoscoping. Something that made me happy this week was seeing everyones great work in their 2D Shorts. Here's a cool link http://youtu.be/PDSxLK-pRw4,  it's a short 10-second scene from the movie Shaun of The Dead done in rotoscoping. I thought it was relevant to what we are working on in class.

Twilight ruining real life relationships.👱🔫

This article was about people's relationships with their "significant other" being effected by a horrible popular book/ movie series called the "Twilight Saga". A thing I learned from this article is that some mother and daughter relationships have actually been improved due to these movies and books. Another thing I learned was that some people's relationship with their wives or husbands have been destroyed due to these books. I also learned that some women actually hop on to planes to Forks, Washington due to these books. A thing I like about this article is that it shows how some of these books have changed our generation for the worse. Another thing I like about this article is that it shows how this series was made to attract female, Tennage readers, while it's actually liked by women well into their 20's and 30's. A question I have about this article is, How the hell do people let this stuff get to them? Get a grip on reality, seriously.

This Week.

This week I learned how long it takes to make 2d short films in flash. The answer is very, very, very, very long. In the future I would like to learn how to make 3D shorts! (It's probably going to be horrible.) Something that frustrated me this week was trying to get my 2d short done and handed in on time. Something that made me really happy this week was seeing my 2d short finished completely.

Here's a Cool Link!-
http://youtu.be/3zPPsqKYkEg

Spongey Stop Motion

This article was about a new stop motion animation TV special, It’s a SpongeBob Christmas!. From this article I learned that there is a new 30-minute special of the popular animated TV show, Spongebob Squarepants. Although this show is normally 2D drawn animation, the team at nickelodeon wanted to make the special animated with stop motion.
Another thing I learned from this article is that the team at Nickelodeon joined with the studio Screen Novelities, a studio that specializes in Stop Motion Animation, to make the special. I also learned that making 3d models of characters from a 2d show is difficult to get it exactly right. A thing I liked about this article is that it shows how at least some people want to change things up to attract viewers. Another thing I liked about the article was that it described how the whole thing was built, and some medias they used.(Like cereal and flour)
A question I have about the article is why did the special debute on CBS? so that people who dont have cable can still watch the show for free?

Sunglasses now In Technicolor.

A thing I learned from this article is that there are now sunglasses that  help people who are colorblind tell the difference between colors. Another thing I learned from this article is that they will cost around 600$. And, I learned that these glasses have a special coating that selectively filters light to remove specific shades that are responsible for color confusion. a thing I like about this article is that they finally invented something to help colorblind people. A thing I didnt like about this article is that these glasses sort of sound like a scam. a question I have about this article is how the heck do these glasses work?

iPhone filmmaking

This article was about one director utilizing camera phones, webcams, and other devices to film parts of his movie. From this article I learned that the 70- year old director is using this cameras and such to make footage that looks it were "Found". I also learned that he's making some of the footage look believable that it was filmed, such as people at a party before the main part of the movie begins. and I learned that there's also irony in the film that is caused by the technology used. A thing I like about this article is that it shows how much these new devices have made an impact on our lives. Another thing I like about this article is that it shows how movies are now made more believable than before. A question I have about this article is, haven't a lot of movies done this already?

What I learned this week

This week I learned how long it takes to make a 3 minute 2D animated film. In the future I would like to learn how to make this process go by much faster. Something that frustrated me this week was the bugs in flash. Something that made me happy this week was that we were given extra time to work on our projects after class. Here's a cool link :http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/16/tarantino-plans-for-retirement

I also learned that voice acting is much more respected in japan than america. And I learned that video games are one reason voice actors are becoming more respected. A thing I like about this article was that it showed examples of voice actors gaining respect by Seth McFarlane hosting the oscars. Another thing I like about the article is that it shows people agreeing that voice actors are becoming more respected, or not. an opinion i have about the article is why are voice actors not respected as much as normal ones?

Disneys attempts to become a entertainment Monopoly.

This article was about Disney's recent 4$ billion Dollar purchase, Lucasfilm. From this article,  I learned that with lucasfilm, the animation studio, Industrial Light and Magic, was acquired as well. I also learned that George Lucas, owner of Lucasfilm, recieved the entire 4$ billion. And I learned that Lucasart's (Lucas films game creating branch) upcoming game Star Wars: 1313 may be affected by disney's purchase. A thing I like about this article is that it provides a lot of good information on the subject. A thing I dont like is the fact that disney is forcing a 7th Star Wars film. A question I have about the article is Isn't it so sad how money can make people, like George Lucas, go against everything they've been saying.
This Week I learned how to stop a lot of user errors in flash, such as making sure object drawing mode was on or off. In the future i would like to learn how to make 3d animations. something that frustrated me this week was my stupid errors with flash. Here's a cool link, http://youtu.be/CIQ4Yty1ask, It's a video with some of the industry's great game developers, explaining how they started out.

And I learned how to find out if the photo is a fake or not, using sites such as Google and TinEye, And to consider the angle from which the photo was taken. A thing i like about this article is that it exposes these Attention seeking, internet jerks, who upload fake images. Another thing I like about the article is that it shows how to tell a fake image from a real one. A question i have about the article is why do people make these fake photos in the first place?

No more Optical Drives.

This article was about the newest lineup of Macs missing a usual part of any computer, A CD drive. A thing I learned from this article is that apple seems to be getting rid of the CD/DVD drives in all of their models. Another thing I learned from the article is that apple actually used to have an Ad Campaign about their macs having CD-RW drives. I also learned that apple offers an external CD/DVD drive that comes in at a hefty 80$. A thing I liked about this article was that it showed how apple only has one remaining computer with an optical drive. Another thing I liked about the article was that it showed the new I Mac, and you can see how the removal of the drive allowed them to make the thing so darn skinny.

This Week

This Week I learned how to make a character walk, and make it all flow together nicely. In the future i would like to learn about overall making my flash movies better. Something that frustrated me this week was honestly, Nothing! Making my walk cycle was easy do to already getting a hang for it when i made my production company logo.  Here's a Cool link! http://youtu.be/V-GzfNgUVHo it's another trailer for "Halo 4" I cant wait for this game, it looks so good.

Disney's New Princess.

This article was about Disney's new princess character Sophia. From this article, I learned that for the past two decades, Disney has been pushing to increase the cultural diversity of the princesses in their animated films. I also learned that Sophia, The First isnt supposed to be Latin, or anything, she comes from a fictional land, set in a fictional world. Another Thing I learned is that many people think that the whole "Multicultural princess nonsense" is ridiculous, and many other people support it. A thing I like about this article is that it taught me about how sensitive people are to stupid things such as if a princess in a disney movie is white or not. A thing i didnt like about the article is it talks about things that are sort of not important to me. A question I have about the article is why do people care so much if a princess is white or not? Has this been going on since Mulan? Seriously, It's not the 1800's anymore. Racism and all that is just unnecessary.

Directing Tips

This article was about things you should take into perspective if you're thinking about becoming a film director. A thing I learned from the article is that being a director is mostly talking. Another thing I Learned is that to be a successful director you must think how to make the audience think in a particular way. I also learned many steps directors have to take to work with actors, such as they must be working in a safe enviornment. A thing I liked about this article was that it taught me about things you should take if you want to go anywhere with directing. A thing I didnt like about this article was that it was sort of boring. A question I have about this article is who's mark travis? and why does he know so much about directing.

What I Learned This Week.

This week I learned about Time management. This is because sadly i was sick for 3 days. A thing I would like to learn in the future is How to make audio synched with animations. Employers and Universities No longer Getting into your stuff

This article was about California employers and universities no longer being able to demand social networking logins and passwords. A thing I learned from this article is that previous to the laws being made, Employers could request your login to sites such as facebook, gmail, twitter etc. Another thing I learned from this article is that Facebook has actually condemned these actions in march in their "Statements Of Rights And Responsibilities" which forbids people from sharing their passwords. I also Learned that California is not the only state prohibiting Employers from getting into your accounts. A thing I liked about this article was that it taught me about how these companies are being stopped from invading your privacy. I also like that it gave examples of employers firing people for not giving their passwords. A question I have about this article is why do employers need to do this? Its Just, Not Right.

Water Wigs

This article was about photographer Tim Tadder capturing photos of bald men getting hit with water balloons on the head. These Balloons were formed in order to look like they replaced the hair. I Learned that catching the balloon exploding at the right time comes down to milliseconds, and to take the picture at the right time, Tadder had to use a bulb expose with the shutter left open. Another thing I learned is that Tadder had to make his studio completely dark and freeze the action with a high-speed flash firing at one ten-thousandth of a second. Another thing i learned is that Tadder is a Commerical Photographer, who worked for companies such as gatorade and adidas. Something I liked about this article was that it included all of the pictures of the shoot. Another thing i liked about the article is that it showed how crazy ideas of people can become a reality. A question I have about the article is, is this photographer one of the best in the world? Because he really had to know his stuff to take these astonishing pictures.

What I Learned this week.

This week I learned how to use flash, WITHOUT ERROR. A Thing i would like to learn about in the future is how to make 3D animation, but I'm guessing i should learn how to make 2D better before that happens. Something that frustrated me this week was coming up with ideas with my Science News Storyboard. Something that made me happy this week was that i finished a whole Flash project in one day!, and it was some of my hardest work as well!

Here's a Cool Link!

Joss Whedon's Filmmaking tips.

This article was about 6 Filmmaking tips from Joss Whedon. A thing I learned from this article was that Joss Whedon was the writer of the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the huge superhero movie The Avengers. Another thing i learned from the article was that you should never give up on an idea when filmmaking. Another thing I learned from the article was that Whedon is the creator, writer, and director of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A thing I liked about the article was that it gave me tips on filmmaking, from a known, well knowledge reference. Another thing i liked about the article was that it included videos relative to the subject. A question i have about the article is How did Joss Whedon get the job for the avengers movie?

FrankenWeenie

This article taught me about Tim Burton's most recent film, Frankenweenie. I Learned that this movie is actually an extended, animated remake of Burton's 1984 short film of the same name. Another thing i learned was that the characters in the film were modeled after sketches done by Burton himself. I also learned that the movie is done in stop motion, with real puppets.I always thought it was going to be 3D animation.
A thing I liked about the article was that it filled me in with all the background, and technical aspects of the film. A thing i didn't like was that the article didn't tell the real story of the film, But i guess ill have to see it!
A question i have concerning the article is Why are most of tim burton's films dark and/or gloomy in some sense?

What I learned this week.

This week I learned further information on using the Adobe Flash Program, I also learned the elements of typography. A thing i would like to learn in the future is how to manage my time better while using the program. Something that frustrated me this week was being behind on my work, and having many projects due. Something that made me happy this week was that i got an extra day to work on my principles of animation project.
Here's a cool link:

ParaNorman

This article Taught me about the Film ParaNorman by LAIKA Studios. It's a Stop Motion movie made by the same group of people who made Coraline. I Actually Saw part of this movie before, and it was really cool!
From the article I learned that Stop-Motion animation is becoming more and more popular in movies. I also Learned that LAIKA Studios has learned how to use 3D successfully in films, and hasn't tried to use it as a the biggest crowd pleaser. I also learned that this studio uses 3D Printers to make the many facial gestures of their characters.
I Liked this article because it taught me more about how this movie was made, and how they made their models, and characters.
Something i didnt like about the article was that it showed me that while animation is fun, and enjoyable, it also takes a lot of work, and time to finish the movie.
A question i have about the article is, Is LAIKA going to end up being the mobster name in stop motion, Like what pixar is to 3D animation?

Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary.

In this article I learned that the show Star Trek: The Next Generation, Put a large impact on pop culture, and made Nerd culture popular within the film industry. I also learned that Star TrekIV: The Voyage Home, Was the fifth most successful movie of the year in 1986. I learned that when the show ended it became the highest rated drama in syndicated television. Lastly, I learned that the show actually sort-of set an idea for the iPad, by Apple Computers Co.
I Liked this article because it taught me about how certain films can start the "Next Generation" For films, and set popular genre's. I Didnt like how they called the culture "Nerdy".
I Think its interesting how Star Trek started this whole "nerd culture being popular" Trend.

What I Learned in Week 5

Week 5

This Week I learned how to use Adobe flash for more advanced and complex animations. I Learned about using the bone tool, to construct a character with vivid movements. In The Future i would like to learn about using bone tool efficiently, and how to use flash better. A thing that frustrated me this week was that im now behind due to my schools half-day.  I was happy that we can actually make basic movies efficiently now!

A link of interest-

Christopher Nolan's Movie Tips

This article told us about how Christopher Nolan came to success. Christopher Nolan is probably most know for writing and directing box-office booming films such as The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, And Inception.  From this article, I Learned many tips to be a successful Filmmaker. I Learned to try to meet Talented people in the field by going to film festivals. I Also learned that to be a good filmmaker, I Should be familiar with the entire operation on set, From Sound, to Special effects i should understand the jobs of these people. Also, I learned that sucsessful film writing comes from a blend of Objective and Subjective views. Something I liked about the article is that it tells people how to think when it comes to the art of filmmaking. Something i disliked from the article was that Nolan tries to use as little CGI as possible, like hey! that's Basically the field im interested in! A Question i have about the article is that Filmmaking is an art, Although people can take tips from others, We shouldn't totally listen to what one successful writer and director is saying when it comes to plots, and effects, isnt being the same as someone pointless?

3D- Blog post 2- week 4

Why 3D Films are not the future.

From this article I learned that 3d Films are actually becoming more and more less popular. I also learned that making a movie 3D Takes away some of the color, and vividness of films. Next, I learned that it cost $15 Million dollars just to convert the Disney-Pixar movie Finding Nemo From standard 2D to 3D. A Thing I Liked about this article was that it told you about how much money companies can make just from taking a blockbuster film like The Lion King, and converting it to 3D. Something I didn't like about the article was that it showed that some movies just use 3D to take up for the loss of a good story or acting. A question i have about this article is why are they continuing to make 3D movies if the market for them is going downhill, it just doesnt make sense to me.

What I Learned Week 4

Week 4

This Week I learned how to use Adobe Flash, and how to use it for simple animations. We learned to animate using techniques such as frame by frame using Presets etc. In The Future i would like to learn how to do more complex animations, and how to do it productively.  A thing that frustrated me this week was all the bugs, and problems with the Adobe Flash program, such as the constant crashing. I was happy that I could finally learn about animating in flash, and i cant wait to make my own flash movies.

Here's a cool link.

http://youtu.be/DKWdSCt4jGE

Its a stop motion animation video ive seen a couple times, its pretty cool. I think its relevant because it shows how people can take animation further than just paper.

Robots, Now with Feelings.... blog project #3- week 3

In Reading this article, I learned that people's gestures, and posture, foreshadow their upcoming actions. I also learned about how ridiculously advanced computers and robotics are getting, now they can even show emotion. I Also learned that people can use robots to figure out how the human brain. Something i didnt like about this article was that robots can now show emotions, because its sorta creepy. something i did like about this article was that it was interesting to see the advancements that are being made in computers. A question i have about the article is why are we using computers to show how gestures can show if you can trust a person or not..

Blog Project #2 3d printers- Week 3

3D Printers

From the article "3D Printers: Now You Can Bring Hi-Tech Manufacturing Into Your Home." From Huffington Post Online, I Found out that 3d printers are used to make Real life objects from layers generated on a computer, Even though this sounds a little sci-fi, its not. I also found out that these high tech machines have been a reality for more than 25 years. I also found out that these printers are now becoming available for home use. These 3d Printers will go on sale starting at only $350 Dollars. A thing I liked about this article was finding out that these 3d printers will come available to everyone to purchase. Something i didnt like about the article was that companies see these printers as a way to make loads of money off consumers, its a nice thing to have, but its not practical such as a regular printer. A question i have about this article is that it takes so long to make something from the printer, why dont they speed up the process of these printers before selling them to consumers?

Friday!

IT'S FRIDAY.
I feel almost as happy as that guy.

Blog Project- Week 3.

What I learned this week

This week I learned about design principles, and methods advertisements use to attract consumers to their products, Involving color, shapes, and proportion.... And i learned The Magic of Notebook page reinforcement. In the future i would like to learn how to animate objects i create in adobe illustrator.A thing that frustrated me this week is the sometimes over complex actions you have to take to do small thing in illustrator. I was Really happy to be able to take my drawing from paper to computer easily, and make a more "professional looking version" of my sketch.

Heres a cool link i found a while ago.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAjJ790y_Hs
Its a short video based off a scene from one of my favorite old video games, "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" for the Nintendo 64. The Video was created by a person who was at the time, a beginner at 3d animation. I thought it was pretty decently done.
