Disney's New Princess.

This article was about Disney's new princess character Sophia. From this article, I learned that for the past two decades, Disney has been pushing to increase the cultural diversity of the princesses in their animated films. I also learned that Sophia, The First isnt supposed to be Latin, or anything, she comes from a fictional land, set in a fictional world. Another Thing I learned is that many people think that the whole "Multicultural princess nonsense" is ridiculous, and many other people support it. A thing I like about this article is that it taught me about how sensitive people are to stupid things such as if a princess in a disney movie is white or not. A thing i didnt like about the article is it talks about things that are sort of not important to me. A question I have about the article is why do people care so much if a princess is white or not? Has this been going on since Mulan? Seriously, It's not the 1800's anymore. Racism and all that is just unnecessary.

Directing Tips

This article was about things you should take into perspective if you're thinking about becoming a film director. A thing I learned from the article is that being a director is mostly talking. Another thing I Learned is that to be a successful director you must think how to make the audience think in a particular way. I also learned many steps directors have to take to work with actors, such as they must be working in a safe enviornment. A thing I liked about this article was that it taught me about things you should take if you want to go anywhere with directing. A thing I didnt like about this article was that it was sort of boring. A question I have about this article is who's mark travis? and why does he know so much about directing.

What I Learned This Week.

This week I learned about Time management. This is because sadly i was sick for 3 days. A thing I would like to learn in the future is How to make audio synched with animations. Something that frustrated me this week was missing so much work time due to being sick. Something that made me happy this week was knowing that halloween is so close! here's a cool link!

Employers and Universities No longer Getting into your stuff

This article was about California employers and universities no longer being able to demand social networking logins and passwords. A thing I learned from this article is that previous to the laws being made, Employers could request your login to sites such as facebook, gmail, twitter etc. Another thing I learned from this article is that Facebook has actually condemned these actions in march in their "Statements Of Rights And Responsibilities" which forbids people from sharing their passwords. I also Learned that California is not the only state prohibiting Employers from getting into your accounts. A thing I liked about this article was that it taught me about how these companies are being stopped from invading your privacy. I also like that it gave examples of employers firing people for not giving their passwords. A question I have about this article is why do employers need to do this? Its Just, Not Right.

Water Wigs

This article was about photographer Tim Tadder capturing photos of bald men getting hit with water balloons on the head. These Balloons were formed in order to look like they replaced the hair. I Learned that catching the balloon exploding at the right time comes down to milliseconds, and to take the picture at the right time, Tadder had to use a bulb expose with the shutter left open. Another thing I learned is that Tadder had to make his studio completely dark and freeze the action with a high-speed flash firing at one ten-thousandth of a second. Another thing i learned is that Tadder is a Commerical Photographer, who worked for companies such as gatorade and adidas. Something I liked about this article was that it included all of the pictures of the shoot. Another thing i liked about the article is that it showed how crazy ideas of people can become a reality. A question I have about the article is, is this photographer one of the best in the world? Because he really had to know his stuff to take these astonishing pictures.

What I Learned this week.

This week I learned how to use flash, WITHOUT ERROR. A Thing i would like to learn about in the future is how to make 3D animation, but I'm guessing i should learn how to make 2D better before that happens. Something that frustrated me this week was coming up with ideas with my Science News Storyboard. Something that made me happy this week was that i finished a whole Flash project in one day!, and it was some of my hardest work as well!

Here's a Cool Link!

Joss Whedon's Filmmaking tips.

This article was about 6 Filmmaking tips from Joss Whedon. A thing I learned from this article was that Joss Whedon was the writer of the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the huge superhero movie The Avengers. Another thing i learned from the article was that you should never give up on an idea when filmmaking. Another thing I learned from the article was that Whedon is the creator, writer, and director of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A thing I liked about the article was that it gave me tips on filmmaking, from a known, well knowledge reference. Another thing i liked about the article was that it included videos relative to the subject. A question i have about the article is How did Joss Whedon get the job for the avengers movie?

FrankenWeenie

This article taught me about Tim Burton's most recent film, Frankenweenie. I Learned that this movie is actually an extended, animated remake of Burton's 1984 short film of the same name. Another thing i learned was that the characters in the film were modeled after sketches done by Burton himself. I also learned that the movie is done in stop motion, with real puppets.I always thought it was going to be 3D animation.
A thing I liked about the article was that it filled me in with all the background, and technical aspects of the film. A thing i didn't like was that the article didn't tell the real story of the film, But i guess ill have to see it!
A question i have concerning the article is Why are most of tim burton's films dark and/or gloomy in some sense?

What I learned this week.

This week I learned further information on using the Adobe Flash Program, I also learned the elements of typography. A thing i would like to learn in the future is how to manage my time better while using the program. Something that frustrated me this week was being behind on my work, and having many projects due. Something that made me happy this week was that i got an extra day to work on my principles of animation project.

ParaNorman

This article Taught me about the Film ParaNorman by LAIKA Studios. It's a Stop Motion movie made by the same group of people who made Coraline. I Actually Saw part of this movie before, and it was really cool!
From the article I learned that Stop-Motion animation is becoming more and more popular in movies. I also Learned that LAIKA Studios has learned how to use 3D successfully in films, and hasn't tried to use it as a the biggest crowd pleaser. I also learned that this studio uses 3D Printers to make the many facial gestures of their characters.
I Liked this article because it taught me more about how this movie was made, and how they made their models, and characters.
Something i didnt like about the article was that it showed me that while animation is fun, and enjoyable, it also takes a lot of work, and time to finish the movie.
A question i have about the article is, Is LAIKA going to end up being the mobster name in stop motion, Like what pixar is to 3D animation?

Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary.

In this article I learned that the show Star Trek: The Next Generation, Put a large impact on pop culture, and made Nerd culture popular within the film industry. I also learned that Star TrekIV: The Voyage Home, Was the fifth most successful movie of the year in 1986. I learned that when the show ended it became the highest rated drama in syndicated television. Lastly, I learned that the show actually sort-of set an idea for the iPad, by Apple Computers Co.
I Liked this article because it taught me about how certain films can start the "Next Generation" For films, and set popular genre's. I Didnt like how they called the culture "Nerdy".
I Think its interesting how Star Trek started this whole "nerd culture being popular" Trend.

What I Learned in Week 5

Week 5

This Week I learned how to use Adobe flash for more advanced and complex animations. I Learned about using the bone tool, to construct a character with vivid movements. In The Future i would like to learn about using bone tool efficiently, and how to use flash better. A thing that frustrated me this week was that im now behind due to my schools half-day.  I was happy that we can actually make basic movies efficiently now!
