Escape From Tomorrow

This article was about a new independent Film "Escape From Tomorrow." A thing I learned from this article is that the entire film was filmed in Disney theme parks in Florida, and California. Another thing I learned is that the crew was not given permission to film the movie in the parks, which makes them liable to copyright charges from disney. I also learned that the crew only entered the parks in small groups to avoid attention and suspicion. A thing I like about this article is that it talks about a very original film idea. Another thing I like about this article is that it talks about the copyright dangers that the creators of this film took. A question I have about the article is did they ever get into any trouble with disney for filming this?

Disney's skylanders

This article was about Disney's new up and coming video game, Disney Infinity. A thing I learned from this article is that the game has the same concept of Skylanders, with the physical figures that you put on a platform which brings them into the game. Another Thing I learned from the article is that each character has its own game attached to it called a "Playset" each playset is set in the character's world. I also learned that the game features a mode called "Toybox" where characters can build worlds and play with their friends. A thing I like about this article is that Disney is finally making a (Some what) original game, not just a licensed game set around a single movie.  Another thing I like about the article is that it explains that Disney is trying to compete with Skylanders and Minecraft with this games release. A question I have about the article is Does each "Playset" have to be downloaded off the internet before playing?

This Week.

This week was okay, something that frustrated me this week was the rendering times in Cheetah 3D being so long. Something that made me happy this week was finally doing 3D animation! I learned how to make animations in cheetah 3D and how to modify materials. Something I want to learn in the future is how to use the remaining tags we didnt learn about yet.  Here's a cool link:http://youtu.be/scnAt83iNbU it's a 3d short made by a college student, In the future I would like to be able to make characters in this kind of detail.

Simpson Short Nominated for Oscar.

A thing I learned from this article is that the Simpsons short, The Longest Daycare Was the first ever. I also learned that that the short was nominated for an Oscar. Another thing I learned from the Article is that the short played before the movie Ice Age: Continental Drift, and it was in 3D. A thing I liked about this article was that it showed a few pictures from the short film. Another Thing I liked about the article is that it had alot of information about the short film. A question I have about this article is why didnt they include a video of the short?

Mics

A thing I learned from this article is that there are many different mics for many different situations where you would need to use one. Another thing I learned from this article is that most talk shows use lavaliere mics. I also learned that there are mics called "Shotgun mice" that are used to pick up sound in a very narrow pattern. A thing I liked about this article is that showed that there are so many different types of microphones, which i didnt know. Another thing I like about the article is that it also told you what kind of mics to avoid (Wireless cheap ones.) A question I have about this article is why are there so many different mics :o

What I learned This Week.

I swear the weeks keep going by faster.. hm.. Nothing bothered me this week. This week i learned how to use Tools and such in Cheetah 3D. A thing I would like to learn in the future is how to make advanced animations in Cheetah 3D. Something that made me happy this week was understanding Cheetah 3D, and only having Minor bugs. Flash was Horrible at first. This program isnt that bad. Here's a Cool link: http://youtu.be/eMbq_PYMEbE It's a short film made in cheetah 3d, i though it was relevant because were going to start making our own 3d shorts in Cheetah.

Dungeons & Dragons

This article was about Dungeons & Dragons and other popular fantasy media. From this article I learned that D& D has been around for nearly 40 Years (talk about old.) Another thing I learned from the aritcle is that some people believe that D & D supports Satanism. I also learned that the popular TV show, Game of Thrones is based on a book series. A thing I liked about this article is that it discusses
D & D's  potential to become insanely popular. Another Thing I like about this article is that it discussed other popular Fantasy medias that have became popular. A question I have about this article is how the heck do people think that slaying dragons in a roleplaying game relates to satanism?

GIFs

This article was about GIFs (you know, those little video pictures.) A thing I learned from this article is that the GIF has been around since the 80's. Another Thing I learned is that the first GIF was made in 1878 by Eadweard Muybridge. I also learned that Oxford Dictionaries chose GIF as it's Word of the Year in 2012. A thing I liked about this article is that it talked about the history of the GIF. Another thing I like about this article is that it gives examples of GIFs. A question I have about this article is Why isnt there a new thing that has taken the place of .gif yet?

What I learned this week.

The week was pretty good, but it went by so fast. This week I learned how to use Cheetah 3D. Nothing frustrated me this week. A thing I would like to learn in the future is how to make complex animations in Cheetah 3D. Something that made me happy this week was being caught up on my work. Here's a Cool Link : http://youtu.be/daWLlpMTxTA It's basically a video showing physics being used in Cheetah 3D, When do we get to do stuff like this? haha

This Week.

This week was good. Nothing frustrated me this week. A thing I learned this week was how to use premiere well, because it was my first time really working with the program. A thing I would like to learn in the future is how to do advanced video editing in premiere. What made me happy this week was to finally have both my Rotoscoping and Stop-Motion projects both completed and turned it. Here's a Cool Link- http://youtu.be/4qsWFFuYZYI
It's a stop motion (lego) music video, ITS SO COOOOLL. It must have taken them really long to do it. I thought it was relevant because i just made a stop motion (lego) video, and this puts mine to shame :(

2D better than 3D

In this article, a critic explains how he feels about 3D film, and how traditional 2D films are better. A thing I learned from this article is that some people think that 3D films make a movie look fake. I also learned that some people prefer real scenery over computer generated scenery. Another thing I learned is that people also dont like it when an actor/actresses face has too much work done on it. A thing I like about this article is that it shows how people react differently to obviously fake objects and special effects in films, when compared to real ones. Another thing I like about this article is that it tells you why people dont like a lot of movies that are being made for 3D. A question I have about this article is why does this critic seem so negative about everything?

7 Rules for Short Films

This article was about 7 Rules for writing short films. A thing I learned from this article is that many great film directors and writers started out making short films. Another thing I learned from the article is that the shorter the film is, the better. This lessens the cost of the film. I also Learned that the short film should always tell a compelling story. A thing I like about this article is that it tells you the difference of making a short film compared to making a full length film. Another Thing I like about the article is that it warns you of overused short film plots, and warns you away from them. A question I have about the article is why do short films have a different set of rules when compared to full-length films?
