Making videos viral

Something that I learned from this article is that it would take 72 hours to watch all the videos that are uploaded on youtube every minute. Another thing I learned is that to be successful and popular on youtube, you have to be confident. I also learned that many videos on youtube that get millions of views, really don't have anything special to them. A thing I like about this article is that it talks about different youtube personalities and how they came to popularity. Another thing I like about this article is that it includes a link for one of the popular videos described. A question I have about the article is Why does Jenna Marbles have so many subscribers? she sucks.

Mathematics and animation

A thing I learned from this article is that to make Merida's hair in Brave, Pixar had to build an entirely new physics engine. Another thing that I learned is that Pixar used Subdivided surfaces extentsively for the first time ever when they made the 1997 short, Geri's game. I also learned that pixar does not have software much more advanced than what is accessible to the general public. A thing I liked about this article is that it showed how mathematics made huge advancements in animation. Another thing I liked was the pictures included in the article. A question I have about the article is, Do I really have to be amazing at math to be successful in animation or game design?

This Week.

This week was okay, A thing I learned this week is that english class is horrible, i learned this from the amount of tedious work that was given to me by my english teacher. Something that frustrated me this week was being behind in alot of my classes from being sick for a few days. Just my luck that id get sick at the moment when I really cant miss school. Something that made me happy this week was finishing my 3D short! Something that id like to learn in the future is animating stuff like hair, water, and explosions in 3D, you know, advanced stuff. Here's a cool link, Okay i know the song is corny, REALLY CORNY, and let me just tell you that no, i dont listen to this stuff. But I came across this video when i was procrastinating my english paper and exploring the internet, http://youtu.be/OJWJE0x7T4Q anyway its a music video and its done with stop motion and claymation, and honestly (for its age) its pretty cool and well done!

Indian Special Effects.

A thing I learned from this article is that some people are outsourcing their visual effects jobs to other countries such as China and India. Another thing I learned is that some workers at a studio in india work without pay for 4 months. I also Learned that another studio reduced their staff from 150 people to 5. A thing I liked about this article is that it clearly showed how the visual effect companies seem to be going downhill. Another thing I liked about this article is that it showed how you should be thankful you live in the US and that theres all those payment regulations and laws and what not. A question I have about the article is why are all these companies dying?

Visual Effects and such

A thing I learned about this article is that the Life of Pi won the oscar for best visual effects. Another thing that I learned is that the studio that made the visual effects for the movie is now facing bankruptcy. I also learned that many people have changed their profile pictures on social networking sites to support the company thats failing. A thing I liked about this article is that it shows how sad it is that a company that did such a great job on a movie is now failing. A thing I didn't like about the article is that it was sort of boring. A question I have about the article is how is this company struggling so bad?

This week.

A thing I learned this week is how bad having Pneumonia is. Something that frustrated me this week was being sick. Another thing that frustrated me was not being able to buy cheetah 3D this week, when I actually need it. Something Id like to learn in the future is how to make things move more lifelike. Heres a cool link http://youtu.be/emNj6zgCeIM it's a commercial for Monsters University, a prequel to monsters Inc. Im excited for this movie, the first one was great!

Mo Cap

This article was about the future of motion capturing technology in movies. A thing I learned from this article is that many viewers thing motion captured characters look emotionless. Another thing i learned from this article is that the same actor that played as Gollum in the lord of the rings also played as Caesar in Rise of The Planet of the apes. I also learned that fox pushed for an oscar consideration for The actor of Caesar in The Rise of the Planet of the apes. A thing I liked about this article is that it explained peoples thoughts on motion capturing technology. Another thing I liked about the article is that it talked about one of the popular Motion Capturing actors. A question I have about this article is, is Mo-Cap used more in video games, or movies?

Filmmaking tips from disney masters.

A thing I learned from this article is that you should never throw away bad work. another thing I learned about this article is to focus on your weaknesses more than your strengths when making a character. I also learned that you should set high standards for yourself. A thing I liked about this article is that there are pictures of rough sketches of disney characters. Another thing I liked is that the filmmaking tips were good. A question I have about this article is what is young cuts?

what I learned this week.

This week was okay, a thing that frustrated me this week was trying to create my idea for my 3D short in cheetah, another thing that frustrated me this week was trying to set up lighting correctly. Something that I learned this week was that cheetah 3D is more time consuming then you think and takes FOREVER to render. Something I would like to learn in the future is how to use the "Rigid Body" tag or whatever it may be called, and those other tags we also did not learn much about. here's a cool link:
http://youtu.be/VD7Nry_3QTo it's a 3d short of some robots playing soccer. I thought it was crazy and cool, the animation is so well done. o_o
